Who Wins: The Masters 2024

So if you haven’t been living under a rock then you’ll know The Masters has been on this week with all the first round getting under way on Thursday with the final round taking place on Sunday.

Who Made The Cut?

Since then we’ve seen the good, the bad, the ugly ( if you’re still catching up this is your spoiler alert on what’s already happened). Tiger Woods ( the Goat) made the cut which we all wanted to see and although the second round didn’t go great Rory McIlroy is still fighting for his 5th Major.

What was interesting to see was that quite of few of the more notable LIV players like Bryson DeChambeu, Brooks Koepka , Tyrell Hatton , Joaquin Niemann, Phil Mickelson, and Jon Rahm all made the cut fuelling the fire that the PGA tour might be missing quite a few of the worlds best players

As we all know Augusta is tough so it’s no surprise that some big names didn’t quite get the rub of the green (pun intended).  Players like Viktor Hovland, Jordan Speith, Brian Harman, Sam Burns and Dustin Johnson all missed the cut.

Who’s Got A Chance To Win The 2024 Master?

The total prize money for this years Masters is reportedly the same as last years sitting nicely $18,000,000 + the illusive green jacket and there’s currently plenty of golf left to play.

But as we go into the third round we’re seeing the field separate into those who have a chance and those who probably don’t.

Players In with a chance

Bryson DeChambeu looks to be in great form and seems to be enjoying himself out there in the first few rounds (T1)

Max Homa, looking to win his first major, looks to be making a run going to into the third round.

Collin Morikawa sits very quietly in T5 with Cam Davies

Scottie Scheffler, the Scheffmeister, the 2022 Masters Champ and current world No 1. leads the way. (T1)

Then you’ve got the English trio Tommy Fleetwood, the purest iron striker on the planet, is sitting nicely in T8 with Danny Willet and Matt Fitzpatick sits quietly with notebook in hand in 10th.

There’s also some lesser known names still in right up the leaderboard with the like of Nicolai Hoejgaard (4th), Ludvig Aaberg (7th)

Players That Have To Fight For The Win

Then you’ve the players that are going to have to make a push to be in with a chance.

John Rahm, the defending Masters champ, made the cut looks to be out of contention (T44)

Rory McIlroy currently T35, way down but he came back from 10 shots of the lead to win in Dubai

Tiger Woods currently T22,  never count him out, the man knows how to win, lets just see if the body holds up but how good would it be too see him win 1 more!

Big BK, Brooks Koepka sitting T24, a man knows how to win majors, currently 8 shots off the lead.

The 2024 Master Championship Winner…

So after all that being said, who’s going to win the The 2024 Master Championship….

My guess, My gut feel, based off all the golf this year and the first 2 rounds is…..

Scottie ‘The Scheff’ Scheffler.

He’s in such good form, on an absolute tear with winning and he’s building some serious momentum as we’re getting into the later rounds as usual.

Tough to go against the world number 1 at this point but it’s the Masters and anything can happen. With so much golf to play and some big players still in the fight it by no means a guarantee.
